If you are already a KiteFlix member, you can use the same login email and password, however, you need to go through the registration process here as this is a specialized proprietary system.  Once a member, of WindBrain you can tweak the various threshold settings such as wind speed, wind direction, beach location, etc, so you get the specific wind alert when and where you want.

This program offers you the ability to create and edit as many alerts as you choose from as many North American locations. Locations are determined by zip code, longitude & latitude, or by weather station. Alerts are sent (always via email) when current or forecasted data for your location meets a threshold, determined by you, for one or all of the following attributes: wind speed, wind direction, wind gusts, and wave height. Up to four forecasted days of data can be checked and produced, and if you so choose, you can also have the alert sent to your mobile phone.

Weather data is checked on the hour on any specific days of the week that you have determined. For example, you can have the system check the wind between 2 and 6 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. The number of alerts that are sent to you after the first alert can also be customized. A list of bonus data such as max and min temperatures, rain amounts, and probability of severe weather is also sent with the wind alert data for your convenience!
